South Dakota isn’t published yet. South Dakota's scores sit on GoBound, which refused our reader, and the SDHSAA's own site has no game data.

In the meantime, a coach, athletic director or team manager can put a school’s season on the site through the Team Desk, and the letter below still asks them to publish.

Subject: Schedules and scores for South Dakota high-school football

Dear South Dakota High School Activities Association,

I am a fan of Jefferson. I follow the season on Hometown Line (hometownline.com), a free game of skill and prediction for high-school football. There is no money in it: readers predict results and are scored on how well they read the games.

South Dakota is not on the site yet because the schedules and scores are published in a way that does not allow another site to read them. I am writing to ask that South Dakota High School Activities Association allow Hometown Line to read the schedules and scores it already publishes, or publish them as a feed. The site reads only what it is allowed to, identifies itself, and credits South Dakota High School Activities Association on every game.

Everything above comes from Jefferson’s own article — except the few lines that name a different one — and is real. Hometown Line also runs a scoring model over South Dakota high school football. Every prediction it makes is the model’s own. Where South Dakota publishes a schedule the site may read, the games ahead are that schedule; where it does not, the fixtures ahead are generated so the model has something to predict. A result is shown only where its source is named.
