Harrisburg High School football

Harrisburg is one of the largest schools in South Dakota.

Coming soon

South Dakota is coming to Hometown Line

You’re in the right place, and the whole site is open to you. We only show scores a state’s association lets us read and credit, and South Dakota’s aren’t readable yet. Here’s how Harrisburg gets on, and how to play in the meantime.

Play this Friday anyway

Every game on the board is open to you, in any state. Call the week’s biggest games, or follow a state next door.

Getting Harrisburg on the site

South Dakota isn’t published yet. South Dakota's scores sit on GoBound, which refused our reader, and the SDHSAA's own site has no game data.

In the meantime, a coach, athletic director or team manager can put a school’s season on the site through the Team Desk, and the letter below still asks them to publish.

Ask them

Write to South Dakota High School Activities Association or your school's athletic director. Address it to the association’s office or your athletic director — the contact page on their site has it.

Subject: Schedules and scores for South Dakota high-school football

Dear South Dakota High School Activities Association,

I am a fan of Harrisburg. I follow the season on Hometown Line (hometownline.com), a free game of skill and prediction for high-school football. There is no money in it: readers predict results and are scored on how well they read the games.

South Dakota is not on the site yet because the schedules and scores are published in a way that does not allow another site to read them. I am writing to ask that South Dakota High School Activities Association allow Hometown Line to read the schedules and scores it already publishes, or publish them as a feed. The site reads only what it is allowed to, identifies itself, and credits South Dakota High School Activities Association on every game.

Thank you for considering it.

Yours sincerely,
A supporter of Harrisburg

Roughly 2,225-4,000 students. A band, not a figure — the exact number is not something this project knows.
Classificationa label

How its own state labels that size. Ladders differ between states, so this is for display; the model uses the size band.
Groupingthis site's
Region 1 (SD)
This site's grouping, built by region so travel and rivalry look plausible. It is not the state association's alignment and will not match a real bracket.

Harrisburg has no article this project could find, so what is above is only what it knows: the state, a size band, and how that state labels it. All of it is real. Hometown Line also runs a scoring model over South Dakota high school football. Every prediction it makes is the model’s own. Where South Dakota publishes a schedule the site may read, the games ahead are that schedule; where it does not, the fixtures ahead are generated so the model has something to predict. A result is shown only where its source is named.
