Coming soon
Vermont is coming to Hometown Line
You’re in the right place, and the whole site is open to you. We only show scores a state’s association lets us read and credit, and Vermont’s aren’t readable yet. Here’s how Rutland gets on, and how to play in the meantime.
Play this Friday anyway
Every game on the board is open to you, in any state. Call the week’s biggest games, or follow a state next door.
Getting Rutland on the site
Vermont isn’t published yet. The VPA publishes no schedules or scores of its own; its scoreboards are MaxPreps and ScoreBook Live widgets, which we do not use.
In the meantime, a coach, athletic director or team manager can put a school’s season on the site through the Team Desk, and the letter below still asks them to publish.
Ask them
Write to Vermont Principals' Association or your school's athletic director. Address it to the association’s office or your athletic director — the contact page on their site has it.
Read the letter first
Subject: Schedules and scores for Vermont high-school football
Dear Vermont Principals' Association, I am a fan of Rutland. I follow the season on Hometown Line (hometownline.com), a free game of skill and prediction for high-school football. There is no money in it: readers predict results and are scored on how well they read the games. Vermont is not on the site yet because Vermont Principals' Association does not publish schedules and scores of its own; they sit on a third-party scoreboard whose terms allow no reuse. I am writing to ask that Vermont Principals' Association publish its schedules and scores itself, or as a feed, so that any site may read and credit them. Hometown Line credits Vermont Principals' Association on every game. Thank you for considering it. Yours sincerely, A supporter of Rutland

- School districtreal
- Rutland City School District

The programme

- 2 in all, 1 of them in football
- Counted from the school’s own article, which lists people notable enough to have been written up. A programme with none has not produced none.
Everything above comes from Rutland’s own article — except the few lines that name a different one — and is real. Hometown Line also runs a scoring model over Vermont high school football. Every prediction it makes is the model’s own. Where Vermont publishes a schedule the site may read, the games ahead are that schedule; where it does not, the fixtures ahead are generated so the model has something to predict. A result is shown only where its source is named.
