Getting Legacy on the site

Texas isn’t published yet. The UIL does not publish schedules or scores itself; its scoreboard is MaxPreps, whose terms do not allow another site to reuse it.

In the meantime, a coach, athletic director or team manager can put a school’s season on the site through the Team Desk, and the letter below still asks them to publish.

Dear University Interscholastic League,

I am a fan of Legacy. I follow the season on Hometown Line (hometownline.com), a free game of skill and prediction for high-school football. There is no money in it: readers predict results and are scored on how well they read the games.

Texas is not on the site yet because University Interscholastic League does not publish schedules and scores of its own; they sit on a third-party scoreboard whose terms allow no reuse. I am writing to ask that University Interscholastic League publish its schedules and scores itself, or as a feed, so that any site may read and credit them. Hometown Line credits University Interscholastic League on every game.

Legacy has no article this project could find, so what is above is only what it knows: the state, a size band, and how that state labels it. All of it is real. Hometown Line also runs a scoring model over Texas high school football. Every prediction it makes is the model’s own. Where Texas publishes a schedule the site may read, the games ahead are that schedule; where it does not, the fixtures ahead are generated so the model has something to predict. A result is shown only where its source is named.
