Coming soon

Nevada is coming to Hometown Line

You’re in the right place, and the whole site is open to you. We only show scores a state’s association lets us read and credit, and Nevada’s aren’t readable yet. Here’s how Bishop Gorman gets on, and how to play in the meantime.

Play this Friday anyway

Every game on the board is open to you, in any state. Call the week’s biggest games, or follow a state next door.

Getting Bishop Gorman on the site

Nevada isn’t published yet. The NIAA posts standings and brackets only; scores are a MaxPreps widget, which we do not use.

In the meantime, a coach, athletic director or team manager can put a school’s season on the site through the Team Desk, and the letter below still asks them to publish.

Ask them

Write to Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association or your school's athletic director. Address it to the association’s office or your athletic director — the contact page on their site has it.

Subject: Schedules and scores for Nevada high-school football

Dear Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association,

I am a fan of Bishop Gorman. I follow the season on Hometown Line (hometownline.com), a free game of skill and prediction for high-school football. There is no money in it: readers predict results and are scored on how well they read the games.

Nevada is not on the site yet because Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association does not publish schedules and scores of its own; they sit on a third-party scoreboard whose terms allow no reuse. I am writing to ask that Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association publish its schedules and scores itself, or as a feed, so that any site may read and credit them. Hometown Line credits Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association on every game.

Thank you for considering it.

Yours sincerely,
A supporter of Bishop Gorman

Everything above comes from Bishop Gorman’s own article — except the few lines that name a different one — and is real. Hometown Line also runs a scoring model over Nevada high school football. Every prediction it makes is the model’s own. Where Nevada publishes a schedule the site may read, the games ahead are that schedule; where it does not, the fixtures ahead are generated so the model has something to predict. A result is shown only where its source is named.
