Coming soon

Arkansas is coming to Hometown Line

You’re in the right place, and the whole site is open to you. We only show scores a state’s association lets us read and credit, and Arkansas’s aren’t readable yet. Here’s how Junction City gets on, and how to play in the meantime.

Play this Friday anyway

Every game on the board is open to you, in any state. Call the week’s biggest games, or follow a state next door.

Getting Junction City on the site

Arkansas isn’t published yet. The Arkansas Activities Association's only scoreboard is MaxPreps, which we do not use, and its own scores feed is empty.

In the meantime, a coach, athletic director or team manager can put a school’s season on the site through the Team Desk, and the letter below still asks them to publish.

Ask them

Write to Arkansas Activities Association or your school's athletic director. Address it to the association’s office or your athletic director — the contact page on their site has it.

Subject: Schedules and scores for Arkansas high-school football

Dear Arkansas Activities Association,

I am a fan of Junction City. I follow the season on Hometown Line (hometownline.com), a free game of skill and prediction for high-school football. There is no money in it: readers predict results and are scored on how well they read the games.

Arkansas is not on the site yet because Arkansas Activities Association does not publish schedules and scores of its own; they sit on a third-party scoreboard whose terms allow no reuse. I am writing to ask that Arkansas Activities Association publish its schedules and scores itself, or as a feed, so that any site may read and credit them. Hometown Line credits Arkansas Activities Association on every game.

Thank you for considering it.

Yours sincerely,
A supporter of Junction City

Everything above comes from Junction City’s own article — except the few lines that name a different one — and is real. Hometown Line also runs a scoring model over Arkansas high school football. Every prediction it makes is the model’s own. Where Arkansas publishes a schedule the site may read, the games ahead are that schedule; where it does not, the fixtures ahead are generated so the model has something to predict. A result is shown only where its source is named.
